HomeSimple is a San Diego based property management company servicing all types of residential clients––apartment owners, single family homes, and investor portfolios.

The San Diego market is incredibly competitive for property management companies, and HomeSimple was struggling to stand out in a sea full of red.

Most of their lead generation relied on an outbound strategy, which primarily consisted of cold calling a list of property owners. Although the business saw moderate success with this approach, it wasn't allowing them to predictably grow their business––and more importantly it was very time consuming.

We trimmed the fat by removing all fluff, and ridding anything that did not add value to our prospective customer. We also made sure technical performance (speed and mobile optimization) were at it's peak.

Finally, we moved on to the last step: Running Ads

HomeSimple had tried Google Ads and Facebook Ads in the past with very little success.

After auditing their existing ad account, we found some pretty glaring mistakes:

Keywords were set to "Broad Match" -- this led to ads being shown to irrelevant searches, and LOTS of wasted money

Too many keywords -- the keyword strategy was unfocused, leading Google to spread their ad spend across low converting keywords

Poor ad copy -- the ad creatives were boring, bland, and not interesting enough to compete in the highly competitive San Diego market

They were using a goal of "maximizing traffic", instead of "maximizing conversions" -- Google was sending them anyone who would click, not the people likely to convert
